How to add location data to your photos in 5 easy steps
1
Upload Your Photos
Upload files from your camera or phone. The tool extracts date/time from filenames.
Prerequisite: Filenames must include ISO-8601 date/time or a common camera timestamp, e.g. 2025-08-04T13:27Z, 20250804_132744.

2
Upload Your GPS Track
Upload a GPX file from your GPS device, phone app, or fitness tracker. This contains your route with timestamps and coordinates.

3
Automatic Matching
The tool automatically matches your photos to GPS points based on time. If a photo was taken at 2:30 PM, it finds the GPS location from 2:30 PM in your track.
You can preview the matched media in the 'media viewer' tab.

Manual Adjustments (if needed)
For photos that don't match automatically, click on the map to manually set their location. If a GPX with elevation is loaded and a nearby point exists, the tool adds elevation automatically.

Download Geotagged Photos
Download all your photos (images only) with coordinates (and elevation if available) embedded in the filename. No EXIF data needed! The ZIP also includes a map overview image:)

π That's it! Your photos now have location data that will never get lost, even when shared on social media or stored in the cloud. The coordinates are part of the filename, so they're always preserved.
